Vijayawada: In response to heavy rains, Special Chief Secretary of the Energy Department K. Vijayanand has instructed the establishment of 24x7 control rooms across Andhra Pradesh. He directed officials to promptly address power supply issues and remain alert for severe weather conditions predicted by the IMD, including strong winds due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal.
Vijayanand reviewed the situation with senior power department officials and advised that all electrical workers stay on duty until conditions improve. He emphasised the need for adequate supplies and personnel to handle power-related incidents and urged the public to report any electricity problems immediately.
He also warned of strict action against those who neglect their duties and advised residents to stay alert to avoid electrical hazards.
