33% Reservation to BCs in the Legislatures Is Commendable: Savitha

Vijayawada:Minister for BC welfare, economically weaker sections’ welfare, handlooms and textiles Sanjeevareddygari Savitha said it has been proved once again that Telugu Desam works for the benefit of BCs and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is a partisan of the backward classes.

She said Naidu is fulfilling the promises given to the backward classes during the elections under which the present government has passed a resolution in the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, recommending to the Centre to provide 33 per cent reservation in the legislatures with an intention of giving more political priority to the BCs through BC Declaration.

Savitha said the backward castes across the state are thanking Naidu for his decision, claiming that the TD has always stood behind the BCs. The minister said that Naidu’s government has implemented many schemes to strengthen BCs economically.

The minister recalled that BCs have been given opportunities as MLAs, MPs and ministers to participate in the governance. She said it was commendable that the Cabinet, headed by Naidu, has passed a resolution recommending to the Centre to provide 33 per cent reservation in the legislative assemblies with an aim to make the BCs constitutionally a part of the state power.
