49 AP Tourists Stranded in Gadag After Bus Seized for Fake Documents
Hyderabad: Forty-nine tourists from Andhra Pradesh spent the entire night outside the RTO office in Gadag on Tuesday after the bus they were traveling in was seized by authorities.
According to road transport officials, the bus lacked proper documentation, and the chassis number and engine number were found to be fake. Officials suspect that two buses might be using the same numbers, which would make it difficult to identify the bus in the event of an accident, leading to the seizure of the vehicle.
The passengers, from Pulivendula town in Andhra Pradesh, were on a 10-day tour covering three states. They had hired the bus through a travel agent, Laxmi Narayan. The bus, bearing registration number AP 03 TE 8520, was traveling from Raichur to Gadag when it was seized late Tuesday night.
