9 Kadapa YSRC corporators may join Telugu Desam
Anantapur: A group of YSRC corporators of the Kadapa Municipal Corporation (KMC) have reportedly decided to quit the party and join the ruling Telugu Desam on grounds of differences between them and mayor Suresh Babu and the YSRCP in-charge for Kadapa.
It is learnt Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy made efforts to convince the corporators about not quitting the party. The compromise formula he suggested has not worked, as about nine corporators are planning to join the TDP in presence of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in a day or two.
Kadapa TD MLA Madhavi and Telugu Desam politburo member R. Srinivasulu Reddy have been active in luring YSRC corporators into the TD fold following a dispute between the TD MLA and the mayor at a KMC meeting.
Corporation officials reportedly did not put a chair for the TD MLA on the dais a few days ago, which led to a heated argument between the YSRC mayor and the MLA. This is when the TD decided to take advantage of the differences between the YSRC corporators and the mayor. Following this, the TD in-charge of Kadapa assembly constituency got in touch with the corporators and invited them into the ruling party.
TD leaders are preparing to move a no-confidence motion against the mayor, which will require at least 25 corporators to vote in favour of the motion. Telugu Desam leaders feel luring YSRC corporators into the TD fold will make their no-confidence motion successful.

However, Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy is firm on maintaining his hold in Kadapa Municipal Corporation by countering ruling TD’s moves in the coming days.
