Viskhapatnam: A woman was attacked with acid on Friday night while traveling in an RTC bus in Kancharapalem. The incident took place near ITI Junction on a bus heading to Gurijala.
Three women, including the primary victim, suffered injuries from the corrosive substance. Upon hearing their cries for help, the bus driver stopped the vehicle. Local residents quickly intervened and assisted in transporting the injured women to a nearby hospital.
Kancharapalem CI Chandrasekhar confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation has been launched. He noted that tests are underway to determine if the substance used was acid or something else. An FIR has been filed, and samples of the liquid have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for further analysis.
