Visakhapatnam: The directorate of health services has initiated action against the doctors, nurses and other supporting staff for tampering with the facial recognition system (FRS) and absconding from duties.
The health services department recently started focusing on the attendance of the doctors and nurses and as part of it began scrutinising the FRS. In the process, it was found that many doctors and nurses across the state have been tampering the attendance system.
District medical and health officer Dr A Jagadiswara Rao said while permanent staff might face charges, temporary and contract workers might face termination.
“The notices might serve as a warning to the health staff so that they can mend their ways,’’ the DMHO said. He said the FRS is a foolproof system and one has to attend to their duties to mark their attendance.
Three doctors and six staff members from Visakhapatnam district are among the errant list. They include Dr Sai Kiran, Dr Kotakala Anusha, Dr Sai Mohini Manasa, P. Deepika Devi, SVL Pravina, Gosala Solmon Raju, D. Sahitya, Matta Sasipriyanka and Uyyala Kartik.
