Aim to improve lives of urban residents: VMC chief Dhyanachandra

Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) commissioner H.M. Dhyanachandra said that VMC aims at improving the livelihoods of urban residents and has directed experts to devise suitable strategies to reach the goals. The commissioner hosted a meeting with specialists from the National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NI MSME) as part of the Central government's National Urban Livelihoods Mission 2.0 scheme at his office on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the commissioner emphasised the necessity of preparing a comprehensive plan to enhance the livelihoods of the city's residents. He specifically instructed Rajendra Prasad, a faculty member from the institute, to focus on identifying the requirements for skill training, shelter homes, and other essential elements within a one-month timeframe. He highlighted the need for a detailed examination and the timely submission of a report.

Dhyanachandra said that based on the findings of this report, it is possible to achieve economic progress for residents through the City Livelihood Action Plan aimed at enhancing their livelihoods.
