Between February 3 and February 10, ten candidates submitted 20 sets of nominations, of which 16 were approved and four were rejected due to irregularities.
Returning officer and district collector MN Harindher Prasad announced that the final voter list includes 22,493 eligible voters—13,508 male and 8,985 female—marking an increase of 938 voters from the initial list. A total of 123 polling stations will be set up across six districts, with Srikakulam having the highest number at 31.
Polling will be held on February 27 from 8 am to 4 pm, with arrangements made as per Election Commission guidelines. This includes the deployment of 12 Model Code of Conduct teams and 11 flying squad teams per mandal.
Vote counting will begin on March 3 at AU Engineering College’s EEE block, subject to Election Commission approval, and the entire election process is scheduled to conclude by March 8.
To ensure transparency and security, webcasting and videography will be implemented at polling stations. DCP Ajitha, who attended the press conference along with assistant returning officer and district revenue officer BH Bhavani Shankar, confirmed that comprehensive security arrangements are in place.
Additionally, a single-window desk has been set up at the Collectorate to issue permits and voter slips to all eligible voters.
