Amaravati: CRDA nod for works worth Rs 11,467 crore
Vijayawada: The 41st meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority chaired by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Monday gave its nod for developmental works worth Rs 11,467crore.
Some of the tenders for the designs have already been called and the tenders for the works would be called soon, stated municipal administration minister P Narayana.
Briefing the media, the minister said, “The Authority has given administrative approval for the projects and nod for allocation of funds for construction of key buildings, laying of roads and works to prevent impact of floods in the capital city.”
Clearance has been given for road works to a length of 360km at a cost of Rs 2,498 crore, works to prevent floods by construction of reservoirs to divert flood water from rivulets like Palavagu, Kondaveeti Vagu and gravity canal, construction of buildings for All India Service officers as also gazetted and non-gazetted and class-4 employees at a cost of Rs 3,523 crore and creation of basic amenities at a cost of Rs 3,859 crore at returnable layouts for the benefit of farmers.
After processes like calling tenders for these, the works would resume in January. Works related to underground drainage, street lights, drinking water supply and landscaping would be done on international standards, as per directions from the chief minister.
Narayana said tenders for designs for five iconic towers, the assembly building and high court buildings were already called. The tenders for work on the iconic buildings would be called by Dec-end.
The minister said the construction of capital Amaravati would be completed in the next three years.
