Ambedkar Jayanthi Observed Across Tirupati, Chittoor Districts

Tirupati: Ambedkar Jayanthi was observed across Tirupati and Chittoor districts on Tuesday, with officials, public representatives and police paying tributes to Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
Tirupati district collector Dr S. Venkateswar garlanded the statue at the RTC bus stand and said Ambedkar’s ideals of equality, social justice and constitutional values should be followed. He noted that the Constitution ensured equal rights and opportunities for weaker sections and said welfare programmes were being implemented in line with these principles.
He cited pension distribution under NTR Bharosa, free bus travel for women, teacher recruitment through DSC and free LPG refills under Deepam-2 among key initiatives. He said about Rs 126 crore was being spent every month on pensions in the district and added that infrastructure development was being strengthened.
Referring to “Sankalpa” initiatives, he said nearly Rs 30 crore from government and CSR funds was utilised to improve SC, ST and BC hostels with basic facilities. He added that land had been identified for construction of an Ambedkar Bhavan in Tirupati.
In Chittoor, district collector Sumit Kumar paid tributes at the Ambedkar statue near Darga Circle and said Ambedkar’s ideas continue to guide governance. He urged youth, particularly students, to study the Constitution and Ambedkar’s life.
Tirupati SP L. Subba Rayudu and Chittoor SP Tushar Dudi also paid tributes at their offices. Police personnel across stations held programmes recalling Ambedkar’s role as a jurist, economist and social reformer. Rallies and awareness programmes were organised in several mandals.
Ambedkar Jayanti marked with tributes, schemes launched
Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu and home minister Vangalapudi Anitha paid rich tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on the occasion of his birth anniversary at a function held in Nathavaram in Narsipatnam constituency of Anakapalli district on Tuesday.
Both inaugurated the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the SC/ST solarisation programme at Nathavaram. They also inaugurated new buildings for police stations at Nathavaram, Golugonda and KD Peta.
Anitha said people should learn and follow Ambedkar’s principles. She added that the Telugu Desam has always worked based on his ideals.
Ayyanna Patrudu praised Anitha, stating that she is among the few home ministers who have demonstrated effective functioning in the role. He said Anitha communicates in a way that is easily understood by everyone, including in the Assembly.
Responding to this, Anitha said Ayyanna Patrudu was her mentor and had greatly encouraged her.
Expressing her happiness at participating in the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations, she said it was a matter of pride that the Amaravati Capital Bill received legal status under his leadership.
Anitha further stated that SC sub-plan funds were misused during the previous government, and that under the NDA government these funds are now being utilised in Dalit localities. She added that police stations whose foundation stones were laid in 2018 in the Narsipatnam constituency are now being inaugurated.
She said the NDA government is taking strict action against ganja smugglers and cultivators. She noted that in some areas, innocent tribals are getting involved in ganja transport and ruining their lives.
She added that the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act is being strictly implemented and many individuals are already in jail under the Act.
Special focus is being placed on rowdy elements, and in many cases the PD Act is being invoked, she said.
Ambedkar Jayanti celebrated across Godavari districts with tributes
Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary was celebrated across Kakinada, Eluru, Konaseema, East Godavari and West Godavari districts on Tuesday with rallies, processions and floral tributes.
Government and non-government organisations, educational institutions and various associations organised programmes and garlanded statues of Ambedkar across multiple locations.
In Kakinada district, collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad lauded Ambedkar’s services to the nation. He, along with Kakinada MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao (Kondababu), MLCs Karri Padmasri and Perabathula Rajasekhar, and other association leaders, paid tributes at Indrapalem Junction by garlanding the statue.
In East Godavari district, collector Keerthi Chekuri, Rajamahendravaram municipal commissioner Rahul Meena, SP D. Narasimha Kishore, Rajamahendravaram Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary and Urban MLA Adireddy Srinivas paid tributes at the Gokavaram Bus Stand statue in Rajamahendravaram.
In Eluru district, collector K. Vetri Selvi paid floral tributes at the Collectorate and said Ambedkar was one of the most intelligent leaders who worked to eliminate caste discrimination.
In West Godavari district, collector C. Nagarani paid tributes and said Ambedkar worked for the upliftment of marginalised sections.
In Konaseema district, collector R. Mahesh Kumar said Ambedkar’s sacrifices and the Constitution drafted by him ensured equal rights for all citizens.
Constitution Ambedkar’s greatest gift for country: Collector
Nellore: The 135th birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar was observed with enthusiasm across Prakasam and SPSR Nellore districts on Tuesday, with a focus on social justice, education and welfare.
In Ongole, collector P. Rajababu reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to Ambedkar’s ideals and announced ₹75 lakh for Ambedkar Bhavan upgrades, along with plans for an SC Study Centre.
In Nellore, collector Himanshu Shukla urged students to study the Constitution, calling it Ambedkar’s greatest gift. He also announced reforms in welfare hostels and said upcoming industries would generate around 5,000 jobs.
Officials and community leaders paid floral tributes and called for collective efforts to uphold equality, dignity and inclusive development.
