Anakapalli Police Return 503 Mobiles to Owners

Tuhin Sinha said, till today, a total of 4,500 complaints were registered, out of which 2,711 mobile phones worth Rs 4.07 crore were returned to victims.

Visakhapatnam: The Anakapalli police returned 503 mobile phones worth approximately Rs 1 crore to their owners in the 9th phase of the mobile recovery mela.

The mela was held on Wednesday at Anakapalli district, where SP Tuhin Sinha revealed the details. The SP highlighted the work of the IT core team and CCS police in tracking and then recovering the stolen mobile devices from various states, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal.

The SP shared the last three years of data and the work by the police department, stating that in 2022, 314 mobile phones were recovered, in 2023, 1309, and in 2024, 503 mobile phones were recovered.

He said, till today, a total of 4,500 complaints were registered, out of which 2,711 mobile phones worth Rs 4.07 crore were returned to victims.

The SP said they have set up the mobile tracking service website in an easy pattern after receiving feedback to help people who are uncomfortable visiting police stations.
