Vijayawada: Former minister Ambati Rambabu criticised Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for delays in the Polavaram project, citing a newly released report. Speaking at the party’s central office on Saturday, Rambabu blamed mistakes during Naidu’s tenure for increased costs and project delays. He challenged Naidu to a debate, arguing that despite the project being a Central government responsibility, Naidu took over and mismanaged it.
Rambabu highlighted that the expert committee confirmed damage to the upper cofferdam foundation during the 2018 floods. He accused Naidu of neglecting to repair the diaphragm wall before construction, leading to severe seepage and further delays. He claimed Naidu’s hasty actions were the primary cause of the project’s setbacks.
