Andhra Pradesh: Botsa Accuses NDA of Trying to Bribe Elected Members
Visakhapatnam: Former minister and YSRC candidate for Visakhapatnam local bodies MLC elections Botsa Satyanarayana alleged that the NDA alliance was trying to buy off MPTCs, ZPTCs and other elected members to win the upcoming elections.
Addressing an election meeting in Narsipatnam on Tuesday comprising MPTCs, ZPTCs and municipal councillors, Satyanarayana said YSRC had 600 out of 800 odd elected members with a margin difference of 400 members but the NDA Alliance was still fielding its candidate.
"Perhaps Chandrababu Naidu wants to buy off these members. But we know how to protect their self-respect,’’ Satyanarayana said. The former minister also said Chandrababu Naidu was whining about the "empty coffers" of the state after the elections. Does not he know the state's financial condition before the elections, he questioned.
Former ministers Budi Mutyala Naidu and Karumuri Nageswara Rao and former MLAs Karanam Dharmasri and Petla Uma Sankara Ganesh attended the meeting. Botsa Satyanarayana also addressed a similar meeting in Chodavaram on Monday.
