Andhra Pradesh: CM Naidu Attempts to Amicably Resolve Fly Ash Controversy

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu would try and “amicably” resolve the dispute between former legislator JC Prabhakar Reddy and Jammalamadugu BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy over transport of fly ash from the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Plant (RTPP).

Naidu called the two leaders for talks so as to avoid embarrassment to the alliance government on this count.

Adinarayana Reddy met the CM, but Prabhakar Reddy informed the CMO of his "inability to come over due to fever," official sources said.

According to the sources, the CM was irritated over the harm the fight between the two could cause to the ruling alliance, the TD party, and the government.

He wants the two leaders to resolve the dispute amicably and avoid further ruckuses.

Jammalamadugu MLA Adinarayana Reddy told the media after his talks with Naidu, “The ash (fly ash) coming from the thermal power plant is free. We are taking fly ash to provide employment to the locals as part of the PM’s employment guarantee programme. We came and explained these matters to the CM.”

He said, “JC Prabhakar Reddy wrote a long letter. Rather, he should have come and explained matters to the CM. He raised a row over worthless fly ash. We told the CM that fly ash can be given to others only after the locals collect it.”

“The CM said the police, revenue, and intelligence will get the details and resolve the dispute,” Adinarayana Reddy added.
