Andhra Pradesh: CM Naidu attends 13th-day rituals of brother
Tirupati: The 13th-day rituals of Nara Ram Murthy Naidu, brother of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, were held on Thursday at their hometown Naravaripalle in Tirupati district. The Chief Minister, who arrived in the village Wednesday evening, participated in the rituals with his wife Bhuvaneshwari, son Lokesh and other family members.
Naidu garlanded his brother’s portrait and remained present throughout the programme, witnessing the rituals performed by Ram Murthy Naidu’s sons, Nara Rohith and Girish. Several political leaders attended the event to pay their respects. Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, ministers K. Atchannaidu, Anagani Satya Prasad, B.C. Janardhan Reddy, Kollu Ravindra, Nimmala Rama Naidu, M. Ramprasad Reddy, V. Anitha, S. Savitha and BJP state president D. Purandeswari were among those who offered floral tributes.
Villagers gathered in large numbers to participate in the programme, during which Naidu dined with the locals. After spending the night in Naravaripalle, the Chief Minister is scheduled to depart for Vijayawada from Tirupati Airport on Friday morning.
On Thursday night, Naidu extended financial support to four families struggling with health and financial difficulties. This assistance was provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). Among the beneficiaries was a 13-year-old from Vayalpadu mandal, who is undergoing treatment for a lung disorder. Moved by the family’s plight, Naidu provided a cheque of ₹5 lakh for her medical expenses. Similarly, 19-year-old Harshavardhan Babu from Chandragiri mandal, battling kidney ailments, received financial aid of Rs 3 lakh.
Additionally, R. Nagaraj from Tirupati Rural was granted Rs 2 lakh to support his mother’s treatment for severe kidney issues. Another beneficiary, T. Krishnayya from Chinna Ramapuram in Chandragiri mandal, struggling with neck lumps, received Rs 1.5 lakh for his medical care. The cheques were distributed in the presence of district collector Dr S. Venkateswar, joint collector Subham Bansal and local MLA Pulivarthi Nani.
