Andhra Pradesh: CM Naidu Lauds Record Pension Distribution to 97% Beneficiaries

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday expressed happiness over distribution of pensions to 97 per cent of the beneficiaries in the state on a single day.

Taking to X, the CM wrote, "It gave me immense pleasure that 67 lakh beneficiaries have received their revised pension at their doorstep on the 1st of this month, which amounted to ₹2,737 crore. For the first time in state's history, pensions have been distributed to 97.54 per cent beneficiaries in a single day."

Chandrababu said it is the responsibility of the state government to ensure financial security for differently abled, old-aged and other beneficiaries. The revised pension will be reassurance for the poor, he remarked.

The Chief Minister congratulated all those government employees, officers and staff who took part in the pension distribution programme. Observing that employees are part of the government, he said they play a key role in taking any welfare programme to the people.

"We are happy that salaries have been paid on the 1st to employees and pension has also been distributed to the retired government employees on the same day," he observed.

Chandrababu underlined that despite the financial crunch and several other problems, ₹5,300 crore had been mobilised on August 1 just for paying the salaries and pensions to serving and retired government staff.

The CM underlined that government employees and officers will play a very crucial role in rebuilding Andhra Pradesh. Alliance government will take the responsibility of taking care of their welfare and giving them proper respect in all aspects, he assured.

"Let us all strive together and change the future of the state," Chandrababu Naidu emphasised in his message.
