Andhra Pradesh earns ₹1,308 crore from liquor shop applications
Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh government has received 65,424 applications for the allotment of liquor retail outlets through a lottery system. The non-refundable application fee of ₹2 lakh per application has generated ₹1,308 crore for the state exchequer. Nishant Kumar, the state excise and prohibition director, stated that there has been a significant response from liquor traders submitting applications both online and offline.
He noted that applications will be accepted until 7:00 PM for online registration, with payment required by midnight. For offline applications, individuals must queue at the respective excise stations by 7:00 PM to receive tokens for their submissions.
Notably, 20 applications have already been received for liquor shops from the US, according to excise officials.
