Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, allowing him to obtain a passport and travel to the UK on January 16 to attend his daughter's degree award ceremony.
A single-judge bench, headed by justice K. Srinivasa Reddy, held a hearing on Tuesday and revoked the order of the special court for public representatives, which had required Reddy to appear in person and submit a personal surety of ₹20,000 to obtain the NOC.
After Jagan Reddy petitioned the High Court to quash the special court's order, the High Court directed the passport authorities to issue him a passport with a validity of five years.
