Andhra Pradesh: Jagan Reaffirms YSR Congress Achievements, Criticises TDP

Vijayawada: YSR Congress president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy reaffirmed his belief that good work done by the YSR Congress Party will not go unnoticed, as people of the state are already unhappy with the unkept promises of the Telugu Desam Party.

Addressing representatives of local bodies from Madugula, Anakapalli and Chodavaram constituencies and discussed political strategies at the YSRC office here on Tuesday, Jagan Mohan Reddy highlighted that 99 per cent of the promises made by YSRC in its 2019 manifesto had been successfully implemented during his tenure, despite the severe financial challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He emphasised that, unlike N. Chandrababu Naidu government, his government never sought excuses. It treated its manifesto as a sacred text, akin to the Bhagavad Gita, Bible or Quran.

The YSRC chief criticised the Chief Minister for misleading the public with false promises, such as promising unemployment allowances to youth. “These unfulfilled promises have led to significant public dissatisfaction within just two and a half months of the new government taking office,” he said.

He lamented the discontinuation or mismanagement of key programmes, like Rythu Bharosa, Amma Vodi, zero-interest loans, Vidya Deevena fee reimbursement, Matsyakara Bharosa, and Vahana Mitra, which the YSRC government had implemented consistently.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said the return of Janmabhoomi committees and neglect of crop insurance premiums has further compounded the challenges faced by the public.

He also raised concerns over declining law and order, accusing Chandrababu Naidu of fostering governance that encourages vendettas and destabilises rural communities.

Mentioning his personal experiences, including 16 months of imprisonment, the YSRC chief emphasised the importance of resilience and integrity in the face of adversity. He assured that the YSRC, driven by values and trust, will continue to work with unwavering commitment for the welfare of people.
