Anantapur: A man attacked his wife in Pathakota area in Tadipatri town in Anantapur district on Sunday, suspecting her of having an extramarital affair.
Police said Dada Peer had got married to Ramija five months ago. Suspecting her of being involved with another man, he had been harassing her for the past few days.
He again quarrelled with Ramija over the issue on Sunday and attacked her a sharp knife. He fled from the spot after injuring her on the neck.
Locals alerted the police and shifted her to the Anantapur General Hospital, where she is stated to be serious.
Tadipatri police have launched a hunt for Dada Peer after registering a case against him.
