Andhra Pradesh minister intiaties 'Save the Girl Child' 2K run on December 15
Kakinada: Water Resources Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu announced that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has initiated 'Eagle Teams' to tackle drug addiction in society. Highlighting the dire situation during the previous YSRC regime, Rama Naidu criticised the surge in ganja and narcotics consumption between 2019 and 2024, attributing it to the previous government's negligence.
The minister revealed plans for a series of programmes on December 15, centred around the slogan 'Save the Girl Child'. These events include a 2K run in Palakollu to raise awareness about female protection and the eradication of female foeticide. Rama Naidu described girls as the nation's true wealth and urged citizens to actively participate in safeguarding their future.
Taking aim at the opposition, he accused former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy of irresponsibility, claiming thousands of women and girls were kidnapped under his watch despite public claims of concern. Furthermore, he labelled Jagan an "evil person," accusing him of disrespecting his own family and promoting defamatory narratives against them through social media.
The minister asserted that the current Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, is systematically addressing and resolving the state's issues to restore normalcy.
