Andhra Pradesh: MLC Polls for 3 Seats on Feb 27

Vijayawada: The Election Commission on Wednesday announced the schedule for biennial elections to three seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council on February 27. The model code of conduct came into force with immediate effect in the concerned segments.
Up for polls are two from Graduate’s and one from Teachers’ constituencies. The term of the incumbents expires on March 29.
The retiring MLCs are Illa Venkateswara Rao from East-West Godavari graduates’ constituency, KS Lakshmana Rao from Krishna-Guntur graduates’ constituency and Pakalapati Raghu Varma from Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam teacher's constituency.
The notification for the biennial election will be issued on Feb 3, the last date for nominations is Feb 10, scrutiny Feb 11, the last date for withdrawal Feb 13, election on Feb 27 from 8am to 4pm, and the counting of votes March 3.
