Andhra Pradesh: SC / ST Atrocity Case Booked against Nandyal Municipal Chairperson

Kurnool: A Telugu Desam leader has filed an atrocity case against Nandyal municipal chairperson Sk. Mabunnisa following a disagreement over putting up portraits of the AP Chief Minister and Deputy CM in the Sachivalayam office located in 29th division.

Telugu Desam leaders, including Manjula Subbarayadu, Thimmaiah, Ramakrishna, Narayana and Venkateswarlu, attempted to install portraits of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan in the 29th division Sachivalayam office. However, municipal chairperson Mabunnisa belonging to the YSR Congress party, along with her husband Jeelani, arrived at the scene and objected.

This led to an argument between the two groups, prompting circle inspector Narasimhulu to intervene and defuse the situation.

However, TD leaders Manjula and Thimmaiah filed a complaint invoking SC / ST atrocity case. CI Narasimhulu said they have registered a case against Mabunnisa, her husband Jeelani, younger brother Rashid and Sachivalayam secretary-administrator Ramesh.

In the complaint, Thimmaiah alleged he had been insulted with caste-based remarks by Mabunnisa and others.
