Andhra Pradesh: Srisailam Reservoir Releases 463,502 Cusecs as Flood Flow Rises

Kurnool: The flood flow is gradually increasing again in the Srisailam reservoir. Consequently, ten gates have been lifted to release water downstream As a result, 10 gates have been lifted to release water. Currently, 463,502 cusecs of water are being released through the spillway, while 309,600 cusecs of flood water are flowing in from upper areas such as Jurala and Sunkesula.

The full water level of the Srisailam reservoir is 885 feet, with the current water level recorded at 884.50 feet. The maximum water storage capacity is 215.807 TMC, while the current water storage is 212.44 TMC. Additionally, 60,000 cusecs of water are being released to Nagarjunasagar while generating electricity at the Srisailam right and left hydropower stations. Furthermore, 25,000 cusecs are being released to the Pothireddypadu head regulator, and 1,600 cusecs are being directed to the Kalwakurthy lift irrigation scheme.
