Andhra Pradesh: Srisailam Reservoir Sees Steady Inflows and Outflows
Kurnool: Both inflows and outflows at the Srisailam reservoir remained steady on Sunday. The reservoir is receiving 4.06 lakh cusecs of inflow, with officials releasing 4.02 lakh cusecs of water from the spillway. The current storage stands at 203.89 TMC ft.
Inflows from the upper catchment areas are also gradually decreasing. The reservoir is receiving 2.64 lakh cusecs from Almatti, 2.96 lakh cusecs from Jurala, and 2.51 lakh cusecs from Narayanpur reservoirs. The Tungabhadra reservoir is receiving 1.71 lakh cusecs of water and releasing 1.31 lakh cusecs downstream.
Additionally, the Srisailam temple saw a huge influx of devotees. Temple authorities planned to accommodate the substantial number of visitors. Many devotees also visited the nearby reservoir, which has been releasing a significant volume of floodwater.
Tourists from various regions flocked to Srisailam to view the river Krishna and the flow from the Srisailam Dam. The Krishna River presented a magnificent sight. Visitors enjoyed the pleasant weather, capturing scenes of the water waves with their cameras and phones. Youth and women were seen taking selfies at the project. Vehicles lined the roads around the reservoir, a common sight over the past four to five days following the start of water releases. The volume of visitors increased significantly due to the weekend holidays.
