Nellore: The 618th birth anniversary celebrations of saint poet Tallapaka Annamacharya commenced on a grand and devotional note at Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati on Saturday.
The inaugural day featured a group rendition of Annamayya Sankeertanas by artistes of the Annamacharya Project along with local performers, creating a deeply spiritual ambience.
Popular compositions such as “Brahma Kadigina Paadamu,” “Kondalalo Nelakonna Koneti Rayudu,” “Narayanate Namo Namo,” and “Enta Matramuna” were rendered with musical finesse. The programme concluded with traditional Harathi and Maha Nivedanam.
The celebrations will continue in the evening with a music concert by Smt. Annapurna troupe and a Harikatha performance by Smt. Vijayalakshmi troupe.
Cultural programmes are also scheduled at Mahati Kalakshetram, featuring a vocal concert by Kum. Vedavyasa Rangarajashri troupe and a classical dance performance by Smt. Dhanashree Srinivas troupe.
Officials, artistes, and devotees attended the inaugural event in large numbers.
