AP Aims to Be Global Knowledge Hub: CM

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said he aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a global knowledge hub.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Deep Tech/GovTech Conclave here on Friday, he emphasised the critical role of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and information technology in achieving this goal.
At the event, the CM signed seven MOUs. These include partnerships such as GFST with Samagra, GFST with Game, and GFST with a German university.
Additionally, MOUs were signed for GFST with Fluent as also with GSR and with the state government and GFIT in collaboration with CMS.
In his keynote address, the chief minister remarked, “We have access to mobile phones and cutting-edge technology. Yet, if we don’t utilise these tools, we cannot compete on a global scale. It is equally important to understand how to use them effectively.”
Reflecting on his role in pioneering IT initiatives since the late 1990s, Naidu recounted the collaborative efforts in Hyderabad’s IT landscape.
The chief minister stressed the need for leveraging advanced technologies across various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, logistics and energy. He proposed innovative applications such as smart farming, using drones and precision agriculture techniques.
He emphasized the need for zero-budget natural farming and cited Andhra Pradesh as a potential leader in food supply innovations.
Naidu also introduced the ‘Vision 2047: Swarna Andhra Pradesh’,’ which aims at a 15 per cent annual growth rate by addressing legacy challenges through proactive monitoring and innovative policies. The key pillars of this vision include eradicating poverty through public-people-private partnerships (P4), generating employment via deep tech initiatives, and enhancing human resource development through globally recognized education and skill centers.
The chief minister reiterated the importance of urbanization and flexible work models while fostering entrepreneurship. In addition to technological advancements, he stressed the importance of product perfection and brand promotion.
Naidu introduced a new slogan: “One family, one entrepreneur,” aimed at nurturing entrepreneurship across the state.
Former chief secretary SP Tucker announced plans for regular conferences and highlighting six strategies aimed at transforming governance through deep technology. He highlighted the launch of a transformative initiative, India’s own World Economic Forum, and invited everyone to actively participate in it.
Chief secretary Neerabh Prasad, highlighted the theme of the conclave as sShaping the Next Era of Governance in Andhra Pradesh’. He emphasized the government’s commitment to leveraging deep technology to transform governance.
One major initiative he highlighted was the creation of a comprehensive citizen database that would ensure secure data management to deliver services effectively from birth to death.
