Vijayawada: Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has said the Andhra Pradesh government is well-equipped to tackle any disaster under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

She stated this during the inauguration of a three-day training seminar on disaster risk reduction at the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) campus in Gannavaram on Monday.
The minister said, “The government has sufficient funds for disaster management.”
She said proper training for state and field officers for comprehensive risk assessment, the use of early warning systems and response protocols are essential for effective disaster management. “We aim to provide phased training for 1,300 state officers and 34,000 field staff across districts, to enhance their preparedness for natural disasters.”
During her visit to the South Campus of the National Disaster Management Organisation in Kondapavuluru, Vanitha got acquainted with state-of-the-art equipment used by the NDRF. She inquired about the readiness of these forces to respond to emergencies such as cyclones and floods.
Vanitha urged officers to fully utilize the training opportunities provided by organisations like NIDM and called for similar training initiatives from the state Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
