AP Budget a deceptive numbers game, alleges YSRC

Opposition leader in the AP Council, Botsa Satyanarayana, accused the government of misusing its mandate, prioritising praise for CM Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh over public welfare

Vijayawada: The YSR Congress Party has criticised the coalition government's state budget as a "deceptive numbers game," filled with self-praise and attacks on the previous regime while failing to deliver on the "Super Six" promises.

Opposition leader in the AP Council, Botsa Satyanarayana, accused the government of misusing its mandate, prioritising praise for CM Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh over public welfare. He pointed to inadequate allocations, such as ₹9,400 crore for Talliki Vandanam, falling short of the ₹12,000 crore required, and lack of clarity on Annadata Sukhibhava. Market intervention funds dropped from ₹3,000 crore to ₹300 crore, with no relief for chilli farmers.

MLC Ravi Babu called the budget hollow, citing no funds for backward classes or the promised ₹3,000 unemployment allowance. MLC Varudu Kalyani accused the government of deceiving North Andhra and Rayalaseema with underfunded schemes like Deepam 2.0 (₹2,500 crore allocated vs ₹4,000 crore required).

MLC Chandrasekhar Reddy criticised the omission of Adabidda Nidhi, interim relief for employees, fee reimbursements, and the delayed Mega DSC notification. MLC Bommi Israel labelled the budget a "numbers game," alleging ₹1 lakh crore was borrowed without clarity while neglecting weavers, housing, and marginalised communities.

The YSRC vowed to challenge the government over these lapses and the forced resignations of 17 Vice-Chancellors, pledging to present evidence soon.
