CM Naidu Fills 59 Nominated Posts in Second Tranche

Vijayawada: The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh led by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu carried out on Saturday its second tranche of filling 59 nominated posts, with a stark preference for Telugu Desam.

Ruling party members bagged 49 of the posts. Of the remaining 10, eight nominated posts went to Jana Sena and two to BJP.

Chandrababu Naidu chose to give priority to leaders of various sections, including BCs, favouring in particular individuals who have consistently contributed to Telugu Desam party's efforts.

Those who worked for the party and sacrificed their seats in the 2024 elections got priority. Leaders Kommareddi Pattabhi Ram and Undavalli Sridevi from TD, and Chillapalli Srinivas and Kothapalli Subbarayadu from Jana Sena got the posts of corporation chairpersons.

Dundee Rakesh became the Arya Vaishya Corporation chairman. Machilipatnam Urban Development Corporation has been allotted to Matta Prasad from BJP. Gandi Babji, Gottimukkala Raghuramaraju, Anam Venkataramana Reddy, Vijaykrishna Ranga Rao and Kidari Shravan got crucial posts.

Popular spiritual preacher Chaganti Koteswara Rao has been appointed as adviser to the government by creating a new post Student Ethics and Values with cabinet rank. Former state legislative council chairman M.A. Sharif became the adviser on minority affairs with cabinet rank.

Firebrand TD spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram from Vijayawada (West), who had been sulking for not being given any post in the first list, has been appointed chairman of Swachch Andhra Pradesh Mission. Similarly, former MLA from Tadikonda Undavalli Sridevi, who defected from YSR Congress to the TD last year, has been made chairperson of AP Madiga Welfare Cooperative Finance Corporation.

Former MLAs Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao and Gandi Babji will head AP Forest Development Corporation and AP Cooperative Oil Seeds Growers Federation Limited respectively. Likewise, TD spokespersons Neelayapalem Vijaya Kumar and G.V. Reddy have got chairmanships of AP State Biodiversity Board and AP State Fibernet Limited.

From BJP, senior advocate Savithri has been made chairperson of AP Razaka Welfare and Development Corporation. Matta Prasad has been appointed as chairman of Machilipatnam Urban Development Authority.

From Jana Sena, former minister Kothapalli Subbarayudu has been made chairman of AP State Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation. Chillapalli Srinivasa Rao has been appointed as chairman of AP Medical Services Infrastructure Development Corporation.
