AP CM Promises Free Gas Cylinder Scheme for Diwali
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said that the goal of the alliance government is to ensure welfare of every family and that he is keen on making Andhra Pradesh the number-one state. “We lost the top status due to the exploitation, tyranny and evil deeds of the past rulers,” Naidu said in a direct attack on the opposition YSRC.
The CM participated in the Idi Manchi Prabhutvam (Good Government) programme on the completion of 100 days of the Alliance Government, held at Maddiralapadu in Prakasam district on Friday.
Naidu made it a point to visit the houses in the village. He inquired about their family conditions, health and well-being.
After visiting the Anjaneyaswamy temple in the village, he held a Rachhbanda (face-to-face) meeting with the villagers and solved the problems on the spot. Later, he addressed the people.
Referring to the ghee adulteration in TTD, Naidu said, “Tirumala's sanctity was damaged by the previous rulers. Adulterated ghee was used in laddu prasadam preparations. They made Nyvedyam (sacred offerings) to God with adulterated ghee. They (YSRC) claimed the ghee cost only Rs 320. They did not think as to how quality ghee that costs Rs 500 was being given for Rs 320.”
“The quality of Prasadams and Annaprasadams were not good during the term of the YSRC government. When we formed the government this time, we appointed a new EO for TTD and started a purge. We have improved the quality of the laddu. Should those who arranged adulterated ghee for Tirumala and violated its sanctity be allowed to go scot free? No. A person (YV Subba Reddy) from this district has become the chairman of TTD. I don't even want to say his name. He made all the mistakes and now he is quoting the scriptures,'' he said.
The CM also referred to the incident of a set of boats getting stuck at Prakasam Barrage. He said, "They (YSRC) used three boats in the Krishna river to try and damage the barrage. The boats came at high speed and hit the counterweight. It would have been a big accident if these boats had hit the barrage gates.”
“For them, it has become a habit to commit crimes and put the blame on others. Crimes are being committed under political cover. A Mumbai actress (Kadambari Jethwani) has been implicated in cases and has been put in trouble. I will not leave anyone who has erred. People remember me 24 hours a day.”
Naidu went on to target his political rivals. “A2 (V Vijayasai Reddy) is saying that I don't know about administration. No one can question me on that count. We will provide electricity and water connection to every house. I am announcing that we will start the free gas cylinder scheme on Diwali, fulfilling another promise in our election manifesto,” the CM stated.
He recalled that, as was promised before the elections, “We have increased the social security pension to Rs 4,000 from Rs 3,000. If a holiday falls on the 1st of a month, we give pensions a day earlier, to the satisfaction of all.”
“As a part of the service to the poor, we are conducting a pension programme at the doorsteps of every poor person and getting to know of their difficulties. This government is for the poor.”
Naidu promised to provide houses for every homeless family and asked the people to make good use of the free sand scheme. He pointed out that the Mega DSC notification was issued to fill up 16,347 jobs through DSC. “We aim to provide 20 lakh jobs in five years. We have repealed the Land Titling Act and started 175 Anna canteens,” the CM stressed.
