AP: CPM Seeks All-Party Meeting Over SCS, Bifurcation Assurances

Vijayawada: CPM state secretary V. Srinivasa Rao demanded an all-party meeting to urge Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to implement the special category status (SCS) and bifurcation assurances. He praised both Chief Ministers of Telugu States for taking the initiative to discuss unresolved issues between the two states.

Srinivasa Rao lauded CM Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy for their bilateral discussions and expressed the hope that these discussions would be transparent. He also criticised the Central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for not fulfilling assurance of granting SCS and bifurcation assurances and neglecting the development of the two Telugu states.

Srinivasa Rao also condemned Naidu's statement in an interview with a leading English daily, where he mentioned that the special category status was not important. He commented that it was not correct to link the special category status with the state's financial issues.
