AP districts to get ranks based on performance: CM Naidu
“When the functioning of the officials, employees and staff members in the departments is good, the people would respond positively, and this would in turn bring a good name to the government,” Naidu said

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials to ensure that the people are satisfied in terms of the government’s welfare schemes and developmental efforts.
He announced plans to award ranks to the districts based on their performance vis-a-vis their implementation of schemes and programmes. The ranks will be decided on the basis of feedback from the people.
Naidu held a review meeting with the officials on ‘Perception Tracking’ here on Monday. He said the government would be mindful of the interests of the people. “Make changes in policies and in their implementation if lapses are found,” he told the officials.
“When the functioning of the officials, employees and staff members in the departments is good, the people would respond positively, and this would in turn bring a good name to the government,” he said.
He said, “We are taking up developmental works and implementing welfare schemes by facing several hardships and challenges. Their implementation must be done in a transparent and efficient manner to get good results.”
“We will get survey reports on the functioning of the departments and based on the ratings given by the people, I will hold a review on four departments a week.”
The CM reviewed the Deepam scheme, distribution of rice through PDS, RTS services and making of waste to compost.
On Deepam scheme, he asked why he was getting complaints from the people on delivery of refills. He asked the officials to take action if the delivery boys demand money from the gas agencies.
He said officials must attend to the issue of delay in remittance of the amount within 48 hours of delivery of the refill.
On RTC services, Naidu advised making QR code available in the buses. Officials must attend to the feedback vis-a-vis dissatisfaction on amenities like drinking water, toilets and chairs in the bus stations.
As for the waste-to-compost project, the CM took the feedback from the people on the functioning of compost-making units in the villages and said the people wanted them to function more efficiently.
About the supply of PDS rice, Naidu questioned the officials on complaints of collection of more money and said there should be no scope for corruption and directed the officials to inquire into it.
