Anantapur: Three members of a family were killed when a roof collapsed on Wednesday at Rudrampalli village in Kundurpi mandal of Anantapur district. The deceased were identified as Ganganna, his wife Sridevi, and their daughter Sandhya.
The family had been residing in an old house that was weakened by continuous rains caused by a cyclone. Locals tried to rescue the victims, but all three succumbed to serious injuries. Police shifted the bodies to Kalyandurg government hospital for post mortem.
Kalyandurg MLA A. Surendrababu provided immediate financial assistance of `50,000 to the family. TD general secretary Nara Lokesh expressed concern and assured support for the surviving family members.
