AP got Central aid of Rs 35,491 cr in past 10 years, reveals RTI report
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh has received Rs 35,491.57 crore worth Central assistance under various heads in the past 10 years from 2014 to 2024.
The department of expenditure, Union ministry of finance, has provided details in response to the application submitted by RTI activist Inaganti Ravi Kumar on Central assistance including special assistance to AP in the post-bifurcation scenario under the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
According to the details, Rs 16,078.76 crore was given under resource gap, 1,750 crore development grant for seven backward districts covering Rayalaseema and north coastal region, Rs 2,500 crore assistance was provided for capital city development and essential infrastructure and Rs 15,147 crore has been given for Polavaram national project.
The Centre released Rs 15.81 crore in 2018-19 for repayment of loan and interest for the Externally Aided Projects signed and disbursed from 2015-16 to 2019-20 by AP.
