AP government introduces skilling courses for minorities

Vijayawada:With an aim to create skilled manpower as well as enhancing candidates' self-employment prospects, the government of Andhra Pradesh has introduced a three-month quality residential training programme under the SEEDAP for youths belonging to minority communities. The SEEDAP is the acronym of (skill enhancement and employment development for Andhra Pradesh). The programme has been designed to equip trainees with industry-oriented skills. The training will enhance candidates’ jobs prospects and for those interested in self-employment.

The initiative is open to youths belonging to minority communities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains. The eligible applicants should be between 18 and 35 years of age and they have cleared at least the 10th grade. Although, candidates from diverse streams such as Intermediate, polytechnic or ITI courses, degree holders and those possessing B.Tech qualifications are eligible to apply for the training programme.

The package will include free transportation, career counselling, uniforms, accommodation, meals, study materials, NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) certification, and job training. The eligible candidates in Guntur district can submit their bio-data on Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Finance Corporation (APSMFC) website.
