AP Government Issues Orders Releasing 122 Staff to Telangana

VIJAYAWADA: In a significant development, Andhra Pradesh government issued a government order releasing 122 state cadre non-gazetted employees who are natives of Telangana. These staff had opted for Telangana at the time of bifurcation of the state, but had been allotted to Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier, the Telangana government had in a communiqué to Andhra Pradesh government urged the Andhra Pradesh government to relieve those staff native of Telangana who are willing to submit an undertaking to accept assignments wherever they are posted in Telangana and assume the last rank in their respective cadres in Telangana.

APJAC Amaravati state committee chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarulu and secretary general Palisetty Damodar Rao thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for resolving the long-pending AP-Telangana employee transfer issue.
In a statement on Tuesday, JAC leaders said although the TNGO union advocated the relieving of Telangana state employees legally working in Andhra Pradesh based on the recommendations of the Kamalnathan Committee after the state bifurcation, the issue had remained unresolved for all these years.

In this regard, the AP JAC Amaravati state committee coordinated with TNGO’s union and submitted proposals to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for relieving Telangana employees to their home state. These proposals received approval shortly after the alliance government assumed power in the state, the AP JAC leaders added.
