AP govt. to host tourism investors' conclave on December 17
Vijayawada: Tourism, culture and cinematography minister Kandula Durgesh on Thursday announced that a tourism investors' conclave is being organised in Vijayawada on December 17 at the request of legislators and investors.
Speaking on the second day of the collectors' meeting at the secretariat in Velagapudi of Amaravati, Durgesh mentioned that at the conclave, officials would comprehensively explain the New AP Tourism Policy and how investors can proceed with the Public, Private, People’s Partnership (P4) model in this regard.
The minister said the conclave will enable the government to understand the interests of investors and move forward with the New AP Tourism Policy in the future.
On the occasion, Durgesh expressed his special gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for granting industry status to the tourism sector immediately upon such a request.
He expressed delight that under the centre’s SASCI (Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment) 2024–25 scheme, Andhra Pradesh has secured funds for the Akhanda Godavari and Gandikota projects, following the AP CM and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s visit to Delhi.
The minister said over the past six months, several MLAs have brought forward proposals for development of tourism in their respective districts. He underlined that the conclave in Vijayawada will be useful in understanding where investors are looking to invest.
Durgesh mentioned that district collectors will be specially invited to the conclave, as their advice and suggestions will be useful for tourism development. Thereafter, a comprehensive report will be prepared and a route-map finalised to move forward with the New AP Tourism Policy.
