AP health authorities distribute essential medicines
Vijayawada: State health authorities have begun distributing essential medicines in and around Vijayawada as floodwaters recede, aiming to prevent the spread of communicable diseases among affected residents.
Health commissioner C. Hari Kiran inspected the distribution of medicine kits in areas such as Sitara Centre, Bhavanipuram Swathi Theatre, and others on Wednesday. During the inspection, he reviewed the distribution process with doctors and health staff, emphasising the importance of ensuring a steady supply of medicines to those affected by the floods.
He announced the establishment of 64 health camps across 32 wards, where medicines are being provided free of charge. Additionally, health camps are operating in five rural areas, with 200 varieties of medicine prepared for distribution.
