AP Ignored in Budget: Jana Chaitanya Vedika

Lakshmana Reddy condemned the government's failure to prioritise ongoing irrigation projects

Vijayawada: Jana Chaitanya Vedika state president, Vallamreddy Lakshmana Reddy, accused the Central government of neglecting AP in the 2025 Union Budget. He criticised the lack of support for the state, particularly in fulfilling promises made under the bifurcation statute. However, he welcomed the tax exemption for salaried individuals earning up to Rs 12 lakh.

Lakshmana Reddy condemned the government's failure to prioritise ongoing irrigation projects. He highlighted the reduction in the Polavaram project's height from 45.72m to 41.15m, undermining its national project status. He blamed Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for ignoring Andhra Pradesh’s needs while focusing on election-driven benefits for Bihar and Delhi.
