AP: Lokesh reviews TET, Mega DSC, seeks opinion on exam timings

VIJAYAWADA: State education minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday directed officials to conduct the Mega DSC in a transparent manner, without attracting any criticism.
He reviewed with School Education officials holding of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and Mega DSC.
There have been requests from candidates to allow more time between TET and Mega DSC. The minister thus suggested to officials to gather opinion from candidates, students and youth groups on when to conduct the DSC.
Lokesh refuted propaganda on social media over syllabus. He maintained that no changes have been made in the syllabus. He said officials have informed him that they are going to conduct the exam in July 2024 with the same syllabus in which TET had been conducted in February 2024.
Officials said details of the syllabus are available at https://aptet.apcfss.in. They said no changes have been made in the syllabus. As such, there is no truth in the campaign going on social media saying that TET is being conducted with the old syllabus.
Over some districts getting less posts in various departments in Mega DSC, officials explained that some people have approached the court over promotions of teachers in Prakasam district. Because of this, the number of posts have been reduced.
Lokesh ordered officials to resolve the legal disputes regarding the posts in Anantapur, Srikakulam and Nellore districts and take steps to fill the posts.
Officials said there will be a fee exemption in Mega DSC for candidates who had applied after the DSC notification had been released by the previous government before the elections.
Later, Lokesh held another review meeting on skill census with higher officials of various departments. He instructed officials to carefully study skill development programmes being implemented in other states before preparing a detailed report on the issue.
