AP Notifies E-Auction to Give Lease of Right for Bars to Sell Liquor
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has issued a gazette notification on Monday for conduct of e-auction to grant ‘lease of right’ to bars for selling IMFL and foreign liquor for the period from December 1, 2024 to August 31 next year.
The order covers areas under 53 nagar panchayat/municipality/municipal corporations and tourism centres in the districts of Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, Kakinada, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, Tirupati, YSR and Sri Satya Sai.
Excise and prohibition director Nishant Kumar issued the notification. Accordingly, online enrolment by the applicant along with online payment of a processing fee commenced at 10am on Monday and will be closed on at 5pm on Dec. 22.
Payment of non-refundable application fee began from Monday and would continue till 5pm on Dec 23. The e-auction cum drawl of lots would be held from 9am to 12 noon on Dec 24. E-auction-cum drawl of lots (revised bidding for bids below 90 per cent of H1 for undisposed bars) in the concerned districts will be held from 3pm to 5pm on December 24.
The non-refundable application fee is Rs 5 lakh for a population up to 50,000 and Rs 7.50 lakh for a population from 50,001 to five lakh, and Rs 10 lakh for a population above 10 lakh.
As some of the licensees failed to pay the licence fee for 2024-25, the state government notified the online e-auction to get the fresh bidders to allot sale of liquor through bars. AP’s bar policy lasts from 2022 to 2025.
