AP Plans Digitalisation, Streamlining of Land Records, Says Anaganai Satyaprasad
Visakhapatnam: Revenue, Stamps and Registration Minister Anaganai Satyaprasad has announced plans to streamline and digitize all revenue records, so as to simplify the land registration process.
Satyaprasad emphasized the government's commitment to providing services in a proper environment and discussed various issues during the regional revenue conference for North Andhra districts here on Tuesday.
He said the process of re-survey would be completed only after addressing all the complaints, so as to ensure justice to all land- holders. There is a need for maintaining accurate records in every village based on survey numbers. Investigations would be done into any potential insider trading concerning freehold lands in the Visakhapatnam area, he said.
The minister noted that the revenue department has been actively engaging with citizens through 33 days’ revenue meetings to better understand their concerns. A re-survey had previously been conducted in 6,688 villages, which revealed some errors. These errors are now being addressed through these meetings, he said.
He spoke of plans to re-survey an additional 9,000 villages. Currently, around 280,000 requests have been received during these meetings, primarily concerning registration and revenue matters.
To prevent past mistakes in the re-survey, he said the government was committed to ensuring transparency by sharing information via SMS and phone calls. Land details and maps would be made accessible in every village and ward secretariats, he said.
The minister urged public representatives to actively participate in revenue meetings alongside the officials.
Citing Visakhapatnam as an IT hub, he stressed the need for vigilance against potential revenue issues. He called for expedited resolutions of requests from public representatives and citizens while encouraging officials to adopt a positive attitude toward community engagement.
Special principal secretary (revenue) RP Sisodia urged officials to respond swiftly to court cases involving revenue matters and land disputes. He advised district collectors to address issues raised by MLCs and MLAs promptly. Quality solutions should be provided for requests submitted through PGRS.
During the conference, MLCs and MLAs from north Andhra districts discussed various issues related to revenue in their areas. They advocated relaxations in the 22A list and called for robust measures to protect endowments and government lands. Additionally, they recommended simplifying processes related to patta land regularization, compensation for project area losses and reconsidering the mutation process.
