AP: Satya Kumar calls for quality healthcare in state hospitals

Maintaining that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was reviewing the healthcare services in the government hospitals regularly, Satya Kumar made it clear that there should be no laxity in providing healthcare to the patients

Vijayawada: Minister of health Satya Kumar Yadav has underscored the need to provide quality healthcare to the patients with the sole aim to give them satisfaction.

The minister held a meeting with the government hospitals’ medical superintendents, principals and administrators through video conference from the Secretariat here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he called for coordination among them to provide proper healthcare to the patients in the hospitals.

Referring to the feedback he got through IVRS survey on availability of doctors, cleanliness, supply of medicines, staff behaviour and corruption, the minister emphasised the need to rectify the lapses on such issues. He wanted them to pay attention to avoid trouble for pregnant women and aged persons for want of stretchers and wheelchairs. He wanted the health authorities to ensure that the doctor, who examined a patient in the morning and sought test reports, should attend the same patient in the evening also.

Health special chief secretary M.T. Krishna Babu has called for improving healthcare in the hospitals based on the feedback available through IVRS survey and said that the medical superintendents have to take responsibility for ensuring proper healthcare services in the hospitals.
