AP schools to get ratings basing on academics, infrastructure
Vijayawada: Education minister Nara Lokesh emphasized the need for both the government and private schools to show improvement in their performance and said that he would give ratings to them, basing on academics and infrastructure.
All the schools will be given rating on the above parameters, mandal-wise and district-wise, he said.
However, he said that the information about the number of students in the government schools and private schools should be very clear.
The minister gave strict orders that the mid-day meals should be nutritious. He said that there were several complaints on the low quality of meals and poor sanitation in the hostels.
Lokesh said that feedback would be taken from students about the maintenance of hostels and other areas in the schools.
"In the parent-teacher meeting, 'No Drugs Bro' campaign would be launched. Simultaneously, anti-drugs campaign would also be intensified, he said.
The minister felt the need to bring in reforms from KG to PG level educational institutions. There should be substantial reforms in both the government as well as private schools, he added.
Once the reforms take shape, quality of the education and also the character of students would improve, felt a parent.
