AP, Tamil Nadu sign handloom textile sales partnership
In a significant move to promote handloom textiles, a partnership agreement has been signed between Andhra Pradesh-based Apco and Tamil Nadu's Co-Optex.

Vijayawada:In a significant move to promote handloom textiles, a partnership agreement has been signed between Andhra Pradesh-based Apco and Tamil Nadu's Co-Optex.
Both entities have set a sales target of `9.20 crore this year. The agreement was formalized during a buyer-seller meet in Vijayawada in the presence of ministers S Savitha from Andhra Pradesh and R Gandhi of TN.
As part of this initiative, Apco signed a deal with Co-Optex to expand the market reach of handloom textiles from AP in Tamil Nadu. Under this, TN handloom products would be sold through Apco and other business entities. Handloom textiles from Andhra Pradesh will be available at Co-Optex showrooms and various textile stores across Tamil Nadu.
During the buyer-seller meet, Savitha inaugurated the event. She and Gandhi reviewed stalls set up by Co-Optex.
Savitha emphasized the AP government's ongoing efforts to create extensive market opportunities for handloom products, aiming to enhance the economic welfare of handloom workers. She said the state has already conducted several handloom expos and exhibitions at state and national levels, providing training on modern designs and consumer preferences to further strengthen the handloom sector.
