AP to Allocate 10 More Acres Land to AIIMS Mangalagiri: CM
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Tuesday that the state government will allocate 10 more acres of land to AIIMS Mangalagiri.
The offer was made at the first convocation of the premier institution, which was attended among others by President Droupadi Murmu. This is over and above the previous land allotments to it.
Naidu said remarkable achievements in the medical field can be made by utilizing the latest technology in medical science.
“Medical science has evolved into MedTech,” he noted and encouraged medical students to master emerging technologies like deep tech.
“The medical field should be restructured with technological advancements to deliver treatments to patients without necessarily requiring them to visit hospitals in critical situations, he said.
Naidu praised the inspiring journey of President Droupadi Murmu, who rose from a tribal family in a remote village in Odisha to be a teacher and eventually the nation’s President. “This journey proves that, with determination and hard work, anyone can aim for the sky.”
The chief minister said the state had allocated 183 acres of land in the best location for the institution, a support unmatched by any other AIIMS in the country. Recently, the AIIMS sought additional land for expansion.
Naidu recalled that the foundation for AIIMS was laid during his government’s tenure in 2018, with an investment of Rs 1618 crore to build a 960-bed facility. He expressed his pleasure at the recognition the institution had gained in just nine years.
The CM said the state government had ensured essential infrastructure like approach roads, national highways, electricity and water supply to AIIMS. He congratulated the AIIMS Mangalagiri for providing medical services to patients at an affordable cost of Rs 10.
Naidu along with deputy CM Pawan Kalyan welcomed President Droupadi Murmu at the Gannavaram airport upon her arrival to grace the convocation ceremony.
