AP to have industrial parks for aqua, food processing units
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled plans for establishment of mineral-based industrial development parks alongside food processing, aqua and horticulture units in the state.
Chairing a review meeting on the departments of Industries as also nicro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) on Tuesday, Naidu asked officials to prepare plans for area-based industrial parks, with special focus on the backward regions.
There must be at least 100 industrial parks in the state, each having an extent of 100 acres. Maharashtra stands on top with the largest number of industrial parks, Naidu said, adding that AP now has only 53 such parks. He asked officials to conduct a detailed study on the possibilities thereof.
Through a powerpoint presentation, officials explained the nature of the existing industrial parks and the locations where the new ports are being established. “Take maximum efforts to encourage the industrialists wanting to set up such units in AP,” he said.
Naidu asked the officials to revive the Malavalli Industrial Park in Vijayawada which was in a neglected state. He also asked them to prepare an action plan for development of integrated ports under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
Industries minister TG Bharat, MSME and SERP minister Kondapalli Srinivas and senior officials participated in the meeting.
