APL Season-3 logo launched

VISAKHAPATNAM: The logo of the Andhra Premier League (APL) Season-3 was officially launched by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) here on Monday. Prominent IPL cricketers including Nitish Kumar Reddy from Sunrisers Hyderabad, K.S Bharat from Kolkata Knight Riders, and Ricky Bhui from Delhi Capitals were present during the unveiling of the “Mana Andhra Mana APL” logo here.
The highly anticipated third edition of the APL, which is being held with a budget of Rs 12 crore, is set to commence on June 30, with the final match scheduled for July 13. The first six matches will be held in Kadapa, while the remaining fixtures will take place in Visakhapatnam. The tournament will feature six teams competing in 19 matches.
An auction held in Visakhapatnam led to the selection of the 120 players, among whom seven have been identified as rising stars. These promising talents include Vemakoti Vittal Kumar from Vizag, Gudivada Naga Hari Eswar Santosh from Kakinada, T. Mohan Rishi Sahith from Srikakulam, Tata Sai Prakash from Vijayawada-Krishna, M. N. Charukesh from Tirupati-Chittoor, Thaneeru Bharath from Prakasam, and Buchepalli Rilasa Reddy from Ongole.
The participating teams are the Godavari Titans, Coastal Riders, Rayalaseema Kings, Bezawada Tigers, Uttarandhra Lions, and Vizag Warriors.
During a press conference here on Monday, ACA secretary Gopinath Reddy highlighted the league’s role in nurturing young talent. He said that the APL would serve as a crucial platform for local players to achieve national fame like Bharat, Nitish, and Ricky.
Expressing his gratitude, K.S. Bharat stated, “I feel blessed and lucky to represent Andhra Pradesh, especially Vizag, on a national level. I am committed to playing all matches this season. Young players should seize this opportunity to enhance their careers.”
Nitish Kumar Reddy reflected on his journey from a humble background, crediting the ACA for their unwavering support, which has been instrumental in his achievements. Ricky Bhui echoed these sentiments, recognizing the APL as a significant boost for many players’ careers, including his own.
The APL’s inaugural season in 2022 saw the Coastal Riders crowned as champions, while the Rayalaseema Kings claimed the title in the second season. As the third season approaches, anticipation is high for another thrilling chapter in the league's history.
