APNGOs Demand Immediate PRC, IR For Employees

Addressing the state executive meeting held in Vijayawada on Sunday, APNGOs state president A. Vidyasagar said the delay in constituting the PRC had created uncertainty and anxiety among government employees.

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers’ (APNGOs) Association demanded immediate appointment of a Pay Revision Commission (PRC) chairman and announcement of Interim Relief (IR), stating that employees have been waiting for wage revision since 2023.

Addressing the state executive meeting held in Vijayawada on Sunday, APNGOs state president A. Vidyasagar said the delay in constituting the PRC had created uncertainty and anxiety among government employees. He pointed out that Telangana had appointed its PRC in 2023 itself while the Centre had already initiated the 2026 pay revision process.

The nearly 12-hour meeting, attended by district leaders, women’s wing representatives and executive members, discussed several pending employee issues. The association welcomed the government’s move to clear nearly `21,000 crore in arrears and expressed hope over withdrawal of police cases against employees.

The executive committee sought implementation of Memo-57 to bring pre-2004 notified employees under the Old Pension Scheme, enhancement of retirement age for contract and outsourcing staff from 60 to 62 years, regularisation of contract employees, promotions and notional increments for village and ward secretariat staff, and improved pension benefits.

The association also opposed disciplinary action based on IVRS calls and flagged deficiencies in the health card system. APNGOs general secretary D.V. Ramana said the government was positive on key employee demands and urged early issuance of orders.
